I love working with families. I recognize how special it is to put on some nice clothes, get everyone in one spot, and actually take the time to document this whirlwind we call life. I realize that photographing your family means that your child will never be this age again, or you may not get your family together again for many years. I carry that importance and excitement into our photo shoot together.
Family sessions with me are structured to be memory makers. It's less "Smile and say cheese" and more deep hugs, real laughs, and an active part of your story. Family is messy and beautiful and honest. I love that and seek to capture that with every moment I spend with you.
FAQ
How much should I expect to invest in a family shoot?
I offer various shoot options depending on location, number of people in the images, and how much time we spend together. My sessions start at $400 and are customized from there.
How many images will I receive?
While I do have a minimum number of images that I promise in our contract, generally I give you way more than that. It is my goal to tell a visual story of our time together - that may take 30 images, it might take 100. It's important to me that I give you a curated gallery to feature each family member, couples, combinations, and groups to make sure that each person feels honored and included.
Where are you based?
I am based in Hampstead, NC which is very near Surf City and Topsail Island.
Do you travel?
Absolutely. I usually plan trips to different states and countries a few months to a year in advance. I will always announce my travel dates on social media. Generally I can be booked for anywhere that's a 2 hour radius from Hampstead, NC with only a weeks notice. Further than that we have to discuss the date and travel arrangements.
What is your turnaround time?
Family photos are turned around within 2 weeks of our shoot date.
How do I know what to wear?
I create a custom mood board for our shoot. I take into consideration:
Time of year
Time of day
Number of people in the images
Skin tones
I also offer a package option that includes a style consultation with Created Colorful. They are a style consultation company who evaluate your skin tone, and match you with one of 14 possible color palettes that best suit you. I work with them to share our shoot information so they can help you choose your best colors according to the time of year, light, and mood of our shoot.
