Taylor + Steve Take a Hike
I asked Taylor, where do you see yourself having your engagement photos? On a mountain, by the ocean, in a field? She told me mountains. So we decided to take a hike.
Hidden within the Ramapo Mountain State Forest is the Van Slyke Castle. It’s a castle? Stone ruins? With a view? I’m drooling. I couldn’t believe it was just sitting in my back yard! I’m a little obsessed with these types of locations and their history so I’ll leave this link here if you’d like to read more about it.
Taylor and Steve had one other request: could they bring their fur-baby, Nellie? Absolutely. The little trio got out of their car, perfectly styled in fun summer clothes, including Nellie with her pink bow tie. We hiked along the trail, stopping at benches and the lake, eventually making the ascent to the castle.
As the sunset broke across the jagged stone walls, Taylor and Steve kissed and danced and even skipped through the late summer wild flowers and stunning evening clouds. Even after dusk arrived, they were good sports as I asked them to run through the forest, giving me one last burst of energy in the twilight.
